Day Three of Little Joe the Baby Horse.

Here are some pictures of Little Joe an eight month old  Kentucky Mountain  Horse weanling. We had just purchased him and brought him to the farm. He was full of burrs and living upon a Kentucky ridge that the bitter cold blew. He is long and shaggy because of it. He lived in a round pen and a shack for shelter. The owner had fallen upon hard times, pregnant and living an hours drive away.

When he got home, I worked hard to get the burrs out of his mane, tail, forelock, fetlocks and am still working on his under belly. Spring shedding might be my best bet.  But, he is the sweetest little thing and I  couldn't leave him in his current home conditions.  I'm a sucker to rescue.  We will be posting his progress in pictures  often. Enjoy.
Wow, an arena. Biggest stall I ever saw.
